Tuesday: Keystone, immigration, reg reform
The Senate will continue debating the Keystone pipeline on Tuesday, while the House will begin consideration of regulatory reform and DHS funding.
At 10 a.m., the Senate will convene for leadership remarks. The chamber will recess from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. for the weekly party caucus luncheons. The timing of votes on the bill to approve the Keystone pipeline remains in flux.
{mosads}Meanwhile, the House will convene at 10 a.m. for morning hour debate and noon for legislative business. Members will consider the “rule” setting debate on bills to reform the regulatory process, amend the Dodd-Frank financial overhaul and fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). First votes are expected around 1:15-2:15 p.m.
The House is expected to pass the regulatory reform bill, which would require agencies to estimate costs of regulations on the economy. Last votes are expected around 4-5 p.m.
Lastly, the House plans to begin consideration of the DHS funding bill and five amendments. The rule allots two hours of general debate on the bill and another hour for the amendments. Final passage likely won’t be until Wednesday.
