House Armed Services subcommittee chairmen named
Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Texas), chairman-elect of the House Armed Services Committee on Thursday announced the panel’s subcommittee chairmen for the 114th Congress, beginning in January.
“Our subcommittees have an immense responsibility. We are fortunate to have a talented group of subcommittee chairmen. They share a wealth of policy and Congressional expertise,” Thornberry said in a statement.
“All are up to the challenge of providing for the common defense, and meeting the high expectations of the U.S. taxpayer,” he said.
Here are the new subcommittee chairmen for the committee, which provides congressional oversight of the Pentagon.
Intelligence, Emerging Threats and Capabilities — Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.)
Seapower and Projection Forces — Rep. Randy Forbes (R-Va.)
Military Personnel — Rep. Joe Heck (R-Nev.)
Tactical Air and Land Forces — Rep. Michael Turner (R-Ohio)
Strategic Forces — Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.)
Readiness — Rep. Rob Wittman (R-Va.)
Oversight and Investigations — Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-Mo.)
