• An Obama administration spokesman has joined BSA | The Software Alliance. Nathan Naylor, who has worked in communications posts at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Department of Veterans Affairs, was named as the trade group’s vice president for global communications. Naylor founded a digital communications firm for political candidates called WebSoapbox Inc. and has worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Vice President Gore.
• Thorn Run Partners snagged veteran lobbyist Richard White from Roberti & White, a firm he helped found in 2011. Though White has forged bipartisan relationships during his nearly 20-year advocacy career, he is known for his connections to Senate Republicans. While on Capitol Hill, he worked for the late Sen. John Chafee (R-R.I.)
{mosads}• The National Association of Manufacturers named Mallory Micetich as its director of media relations. Prior to that, she worked on Capitol Hill on the House Natural Resources Committee, serving as the press secretary for Chairman Doc Hastings (R-Wash.). She has also served in the office of Rep. Ken Calvert (R-Calif.) and within the Capitol’s Senate Radio and Television Gallery.
• Bill Davis, a former lobbyist for the National Pork Producers Council, has become a legislative aide to Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-Ohio), a member of the House Agriculture Committee. Davis had been the deputy director of government relations for the group and helped manage its political action committee, PorkPAC.
• John Milne and Jeffrey Wiener left mCapitol Management to join the bipartisan lobby firm The First Group. Prior to mCapitol, Milne worked as the director of federal government affairs for 3M. Wiener, a former advisor to Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), has worked at Cassidy & Associates and Fabiani & Company
• The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) hired Roger Lowe as its executive vice president of strategic communications. He has been a communications expert at the American Red Cross since 2009 and before that worked at public affairs powerhouses APCO Worldwide and Porter Novelli. Lowe begins at GMA on Jan. 5
• Porterfield, Lowenthal Fettig & Sears has brought on a former aide to Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.), Jeremy Rabinovitz, as a senior executive vice president. He comes from ML Strategies. Rabinovitz also worked as the chief of staff to Rep. Lois Capps (D-Calif.), in addition to other roles on Capitol Hill.
