Senate confirms two judicial nominees
The Senate confirmed two of President Obama’s judicial nominations on Thursday.
Randolph Moss was confirmed on a 54-45 vote to be a U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia.
{mosads}The Senate also voted 99-0 to confirm Leigh Martin May to be U.S. District Judge for northern Georgia.
Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) said May was “unbelievably knowledgeable” and well qualified for the position.
Both nominations were advanced Wednesday.
With Republicans taking control of the upper chamber next year, Democrats are more motivated than ever to clear as many of Obama’s executive and judicial nominations as possible before the end of the year.
The Senate is expected to consider at least three other judicial nominations next week.
