Supreme Court lifts Kansas gay marriage hold
The Supreme Court on Wednesday lifted a hold on same-sex marriages in Kansas, become the 33rd state to legalize marriage equality.
The nation’s highest court rejected a request to prevent gay couples from marrying while the state takes up the issue in court.
{mosads}Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas said they would have granted the state’s request for a stay. None of the justices gave a reason.
The Supreme Court’s decision comes the same day a federal judge declared South Carolina’s same-sex marriage ban unconstitutional.
