New York governor: Expect fracking study by end of year
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said a long-running health study on the state’s hydraulic fracturing will be finished “by the end of the year.”
{mosads}Cuomo made the remark during the only debate of the gubernatorial election on Wednesday night, the Lohud Journal News reports.
“I said it should be done by the end of the year,” Cuomo said when pressed on the comment again. “But I have previously said we expect it to be done by the end of the year.”
Cuomo has said he would not make a decision on fracking until the health department finished the study, which has been delayed for roughly two years.
