Clinton headed back to Iowa
Hillary Clinton is going back to Iowa days before the midterm elections, CNN reports.
The potential 2016 hopeful will be in the Hawkeye state on Oct. 29, likely stumping for Rep. Bruce Braley (D-Iowa), who is running for the state’s open Senate seat. Braley is locked in a tight race with Republican state Sen. Joni Ernst.
{mosads}Clinton made her return to Iowa earlier this cycle — after a six-year hiatus — campaigning for Braley at Sen. Tom Harkin’s (D-Iowa) final steak fry fundraiser. Harkin is stepping down after serving 30 years in the Senate.
The former secretary of State’s trip to the state, like almost all of her actions in the last six months, was closely read for any way it might presage a 2016 presidential run.
Clinton lost the state’s primary to Barack Obama in 2008, which launched his rise toward the nomination and sunk the Clinton campaign, the success of which had been seen by many as a fait accompli.
