Gas prices likely to drop below $3 across US
The cost of a gallon of gasoline could fall below $3 in a majority of states across the U.S. soon.
Right now, the average price for regular gasoline is at a seven-month low across the country, and in many states costs are at a yearly low, according to AAA.
{mosads}Gas prices tend to drop in the fall, but this year prices are being pulled lower than usual due to falling global oil prices, The Associated Press reports.
Prices in nearly 30 states are projected to be less than $3 a gallon.
The national average of $3.35 a gallon is a dime cheaper than a year ago today, and in areas like Springfield, Mo., the price of a gallon is already below $3, according to GasBuddy.com.
