Ex-gubernatorial candidate wins nod to replace Bachmann
Former gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer (R) has won the nomination to replace retiring Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.)
{mosads}The Associated Press has called the race for Emmer, who led Anoka County Commissioner Rhonda Sivarajah (R) by 76.5 to 23.5 percent with 26.5 percent of precincts reporting.
Emmer, who had already won his party’s endorsement in the convention, is almost certain to win the seat this fall in the heavily Republican district. Bachmann’s decision to retire all but guaranteed that the GOP would hold on to this seat in 2014.
