House panel to hold hearing on downed Malaysian plane
The House Foreign Affairs Committee will hear testimony from experts on Ukraine and Russia about Malaysia Airlines Flight 17.
Members will hear testimony at the Tuesday, July 29 hearing from experts from the American Enterprise Institute, Atlantic Council, American Institute in Ukraine and the United States Institute of Peace.
{mosads}Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.), the chairman of the subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia and Emerging Threats, said the hearing would provide insight on handling an investigation of the Malaysia Airlines flight shot down over Ukraine earlier this month.
“The Russian government needs to help hold accountable those responsible for the shoot down,” Rohrabacher said in a statement. “This hearing will help to bring forth what facts we do know and provide the members with additional information about how a proper investigation could be conducted.”
Also on Tuesday, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Leon Rodriguez will testify before the House Judiciary Committee as Congress struggles to pass a measure providing funds to address the surge of child migrants crossing the border.
