Senate advances 11th Circuit nomination

The Senate voted 68-23 on Thursday to end debate on the nomination of Julie Carnes to be the judge for the 11th U.S. Circuit Court.

{mosads}A vote on her confirmation will occur on Monday at 5:30 p.m.

The Senate also voted to clear two of President Obama’s executive nominations.

David Shear was confirmed by voice vote to be an assistant secretary of Defense, as was David Mader to be controller in the Office of Federal Financial Management at the Office of Management and Budget.
