Paul: Labrador would be ‘a great leader’
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has thrown his support behind Idaho Rep. Raul Labrador’s bid to become the next House majority leader, according to the Associated Press.
{mosads}”I think Labrador would be a great leader,” the 2016 GOP presidential hopeful said at the Idaho Republican Convention on Friday, joined by the second-term congressman.
Labrador jumped into the GOP leadership race to replace House Majority Leader Eric Cantor on Friday, challenging Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) in next Thursday’s special election.
During his keynote address, Paul urged unity within the Republican party ahead of the midterm election.
