Franken touts small business work in first ad
Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) is out with the first ad of his reelection campaign, a spot featuring a small business owner talking up Franken’s work to help her company and others like it.
{mosads}”We’ve run this business for over 25 years, but today, we’re having a hard time finding skilled workers. Al Franken understands that a lot of businesses have the same problem. He’s working to connect community colleges with manufacturers, to help businesses fill the high-skill jobs that are open, right now,” Top Tool owner Elizabeth Abraham says in the ad. “What impressed me the most is that Al Franken listened to what we had to say. I’ve never seen anyone work so hard to help small businesses like ours succeed.”
Franken is favored in his first bid for reelection, though some national Republicans have been hopeful that businessman Mike McFadden (R) could make it a competitive race, should he win the primary.
The freshman senator is taking no chances, however, as the early ad shows. Franken’s campaign says the ad is running statewide, though the size of the ad buy isn’t disclosed.
