Senate passes extension to build law enforcement museum

The Senate passed a bill Monday that extends the time limit for constructing the National Law Enforcement Museum.

{mosads}Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) introduced H.R. 4120, which extends for an additional three years the construction of the building of the National Law Enforcement Museum to honor federal, state and local law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.

The House passed the measure last month in a 384-0 vote, meaning the bill now heads to President Obama’s desk for his signature.

In 2000, Congress authorized the establishment of a National Law Enforcement Museum to be built in Washington, D.C., and construction has taken longer than originally expected. This bill will allow enough time for the completion of the project.
