Climate change not a fact, says GOP Senate hopefuls
All of the Republican candidates seeking their party’s nomination in the North Carolina Senate race don’t think climate change is occurring.
When asked if climate change is a fact, all four candidates vying to challenge incumbent Democrat Sen. Kay Hagan said no.
{mosads}The candidates, Greg Brannon, Heather Grant, Mark Harris and Thom Tillis, were asked the question during a debate Tuesday night.
While NASA says that 97 percent of scientists agree that climate change is occurring due to human activity, a number of lawmakers disagree.
The ongoing debate in Congress over whether climate change is hard science has intensified in recent years. President Obama’s climate agenda has received harsh criticisms from Republicans, and rather than closing the gap in Congress between believers and skeptics, the divide has grown.
