Lawmakers tweet #BostonStrong to mark one-year anniversary

Mitt Romney, Scott Brown and a number of other lawmakers from around the country took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to mark the first anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings and “remember the acts of compassion that conquered the acts of cowards.”

Three people were killed and hundreds more were injured when two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon a year ago. The first Boston Marathon since the bombing is scheduled for Monday.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) marked the day by honoring the “lives lost and lives that endure.”

The White House is scheduled to hold a moment of silence for the victims at 2:40 p.m., near the time the bombs exploded. Vice President Biden is also scheduled to speak in Boston later Tuesday.

Scott Brown, the former Republican senator from Massachusetts who is running for Senate in New Hampshire, also sent his thoughts and prayers.
