LBJ daughter: I didn’t date without Secret Service
One of former President Lyndon B. Johnson’s daughters says she didn’t go out on a date without the protection of the Secret Service before the age of 30.
“I was over 30, divorced, the mother of four children, before I ever went out on a date alone,” Luci Baines Johnson says with a laugh in an interview with Katie Couric for Yahoo! News.
Johnson, 66, was just 16 when her dad became commander in chief.

Her older sister, Lynda Bird Johnson Robb, recalls the less-than-romantic-sounding honeymoon she went on, which came complete with a Secret Service detail.
“You get up the next morning, and there your big brothers are there saying, ‘Hmmm,’ ” Johnson Robb said, recalling the “awkward moments” she experienced.
But Johnson says the agents ultimately became “like family.”
The pair expressed empathy for members of every first family, particularly the White House’s youngest residents, Sasha and Malia Obama.
“We all share something that nobody else has ever been through,” Johnson Robb exclaimed.
