Ellen breaks Obama’s Twitter record

Ellen DeGeneres at the Oscars Sunday night broke President Obama’s record for the most retweeted photo.

The comedian and host of the Oscars took a selfie with a slew of celebrities in the middle of the show, and shattered the previous record with more than 2.5 million retweets by Monday morning.

A tweet showing Obama embracing first lady Michelle Obama after his 2012 reelection victory with the caption “four more years” had previously held the record, with more than 700,000 retweets.

DeGeneres’s selfie — actually taken by actor Bradley Cooper — included Jared Leto, Jennifer Lawrence, Channing Tatum, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Kevin Spacey, Brad Pitt, Lupita Nyong’o of the movie “12 Years a Slave” and her brother.
