McConnell: Latest delay proves O-Care is ‘failing’

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said that the administration’s decision to extend enrollment deadlines for the ObamaCare health exchange proves that the law is “failing.”

“Despite the administration’s promises that ObamaCare enrollment is on track, this announcement is a clear admission that ObamaCare is failing Americans with pre-existing conditions who are losing the plans they already had,” McConnell said Thursday.

{mosads}His comments came shortly after the administration announced that the federal government would extend the Pre-Existing Conditions Insurance Plan (PCIP), slated to end at the end of the year, for an additional month.

McConnell has been a constant critic of ObamaCare, pointing out more recently that millions of people are losing the coverage they already have because their plans don’t comply with coverage requirements under the law.

He has also criticized the exchange website’s initial “glitches,” which the administration says it has worked out.

“Millions of people were tossed off of the plans they already had but only a fraction of that number have been able to sign up on the ObamaCare exchanges,” McConnell said. “How many extensions and waivers is it going to take for the administration to admit the consequences of ObamaCare that are hitting millions of Americans they promised it would help?”
