HHS launches new ‘Meaningful Consent’ provider site
{mosads}The resources launched Tuesday are designed to ensure patients can make informed decisions about how to handle their health information, including any electronic health records, officials said.
“As patients become more engaged in their healthcare, it’s vitally important that they understand more about various aspects of their choices when it relates to sharing their health in the electronic health information exchange environment,” said Joy Pritts, chief privacy officer with HHS’s Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.
The shift to electronic health records is a major priority for HHS.
