Senate passes bill aimed at ensuring flu vaccine availability
{mosads}The House passed the same measure Tuesday, meaning the bill will now head to President Obama’s desk for his signature.
The Senate passed several other bills through a unanimous consent agreement before adjourning for the evening on Wednesday. A list of those bills follows:
– Sen. Bob Menendez’s (D-N.J.) S. 579, which directs the Secretary of State to develop a strategy to obtain observer status for Taiwan at the triennial International Civil Aviation Organization Assembly.
– Sen. Carl Levin’s (D-Mich.), Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Conservation and Recreation Act, S. 23, designates specified land and inland water within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Michigan, to be known as the Sleeping Bear Dunes Wilderness, as wilderness and as a component of the National Wilderness Preservation System.
– Sen. Orrin Hatch’s (R-Utah) South Utah Valley Electric Conveyance Act, S. 25, requires the Secretary of the Interior to license use of the South Utah Valley Electric Service District for electrical distribution.
– Hatch’s Bonneville Unit Clean Hydropower Facilitation Act, S. 26, declares that reimbursable costs allocated to facilitate hydropower development on the Diamond Fork System shall be considered final costs, as well as specified costs in excess of the total maximum repayment obligation.
– Sen. Patty Murray’s (D-Wash.) Alpine Lakes Wilderness Additions and Pratt and Middle Fork Snoqualmie Rivers Protection Act, S. 112, designates certain lands as wilderness and as a component of the National Wilderness Preservation System.
– Sen. Mike Enzi’s (R-Wyo.) Powell Shooting Range Land Conveyance Act, S. 130, directs the Secretary of the Interior to allow the Powell Recreation District to be used as a shooting range.
– Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s (R-Alaska) Denali National Park Improvement Act, S. 157, authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to issue permits for specified microhydro projects in the Kantishna Hills area within the Denali National Park and Preserve.
_ Sen. Rob Portman’s (R-Ohio), S. 230, authorizes the Peace Corps Commemorative Foundation to establish a commemorative work on federal land in D.C. to commemorate the mission of the Peace Corps and the ideals on which it was founded.
– Sen. John Hoeven’s (R-N.D.), S. 244 amends the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to revise the list of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Federal Permit Streamlining Pilot Project offices.
– Sen. James Risch’s (R-Idaho) S. 276, directs the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to reinstate and extend the deadline for commencement of construction of a hydroelectric project involving the American Falls Reservoir.
– Sen. Thad Cochran’s (R-Miss.) Natchez Trace Parkway Land Conveyance Act, S. 304, requires the Secretary of the Interior to convey to Mississippi, by quitclaim deed, all interest of the United States in two parcels of identified land totaling approximately 67 acres.
– Sen. Ron Wyden’s (D-ore.) Devil’s Staircase Wilderness Act, S. 352, designates certain federal land in Oregon administered by the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) as the Devil’s Staircase Wilderness and as wilderness and a component of the National Wilderness Preservation System.
– Murray’s S. 383, to designate a segment of Illabot Creek in Skagit County, Washington, as a component of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.
– Sen. Chris Coons’ (D-Del.) White Clay Creek Wild and Scenic River Expansion Act, S. 393, amends the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act to designate additional segments and tributaries of the White Clay Creek in Delaware and Pennsylvania as components of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.
– Sen. Tim Johnson’s (D-S.D.) Minuteman Missile National Historic Site Boundary Modification, S. 459, amends the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site Establishment Act of 1999 to modify the boundary of the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site in South Dakota by including in the Historic Site a visitor facility and administrative site located on a specified parcel of land.
