Hawaii Sen.-designate Schatz ready for a Washington winter
{mosads}Schatz, who is poised to be sworn in as senator Thursday afternoon and had hitched a ride back from Hawaii with President Obama on Air Force One, says he purchased his new coat “in anticipation of the D.C. weather,” according to the White House press pool.
The high temperature in Honolulu on Thursday was expected to reach 80 degrees, while the nation’s capital faced a windy, 43-degree day.
