Romney holds slim lead on Obama in latest national tracking poll

{mosads}Romney’s lead on taxes is a dramatic shift from the first Washington Post-ABC News poll, which found Obama leading Romney by 11 percentage points. Since that first poll, Obama lost 7 points on the question and Romney gained 5 points.

On whom voters trust more on healthcare, the poll found Obama leading Romney 49 percent to 46 percent.

Meanwhile, on the deficit, the margin is a bit wider in Romney’s favor. The poll found likely voters feel Romney is the stronger candidate when it comes to solving the country’s fiscal woes, with the GOP nominee topping Obama 50 percent to 45.

The silver lining for Obama is that 49 percent say Obama better understands the economic problems of people in the country while 44 percent say Romney does.

The poll, conducted among 1,278 likely voters from Oct. 24-27, had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
