Ad attacks McCaskill for voting to ‘send taxpayer dollars’ overseas
{mosads}The ad also links McCaskill to sending funds to Egypt and Libya before pivoting to linking the senator from Missouri to President Obama.
“Here at home millions of people are out of work and our debt keeps climbing but Claire McCaskill works with Barack Obama to send our money to radicals who attack our embassies, burn our flag, and kill our diplomats,” the voiceover continues. “What would you do? It’s time to bring our tax dollars home and send Claire McCaskill home too.”
Paul has been one of the Senate’s most vocal opponents of foreign aid payments, especially to volatile Middle Eastern nations.
The campaigns for Mitt Romney and Obama both have sought to gain a political advantage over the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, in September. Four staffers at the embassy, including the ambassador, died as a result of the assault.
Romney and Republicans have strongly criticized Obama for taking too long to characterize the attack as an act of terrorism. Democrats, in response, say Romney and his Republican surrogates are just trying to score political points by lobbing criticism about the attack.
