Homer Simpson casts vote in presidential election
At least one notable TV personality who intended to vote for Barack Obama in 2008 is now casting a ballot for Mitt Romney.
In a clip from the upcoming season premiere episode of “The Simpsons,” Homer Simpson is seen heading to the Springfield voting booths to make his pick for president in the 2012 election (even though technically Election Day isn’t until Nov. 6).
{mosads}As the patriarch of the Simpsons family tries to decide between the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates, he’s heard wondering aloud about how to make his choice.
Simpson says of Obama, “I don’t know, I already got one wife telling me to eat healthy. Plus, he promised me death panels and grandpa is still alive.”
He then considers Romney, grumbling, “I hear he wears magic underpants. I expect the leader of the free world to go commando. Plus, his horse totally choked at the Olympics. On the other hand, he did invent ObamaCare.”
The lovable cartoon character ultimately selects Romney, before getting sucked up by the voting machine. Simpson suffered a similar vortex-sucking fate at the ballot box in 2008. He attempted to cast a vote for then-Sen. Obama (D-Ill.), but instead the machine selected Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
“The Simpsons” premieres on Fox on Sept. 30.
