Celebrity rabbi gets Jon Gosselin’s support for congressional campaign
{mosads}“Gosselin will speak about his life, the disintegration of his marriage on national television and how tax deductible marriage counseling could have saved it, and the help he has received from Rabbi Schmuley,” according to a press release from Boteach’s campaign. “As part of his values-based platform, the candidate will elaborate on the importance of tax incentives for marital counseling as a means for bringing the divorce rate down substantially; rather than scapegoating gay marriage, Rabbi Schmuley hopes to steer the political conversation towards a more productive method for saving the institution of marriage.’”
Boteach, a television personality, author and spiritual adviser to the stars, previously advised Gosselin. Boteach is running against Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) in a Democratic-leaning district.
Gosselin was a star of reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which continued on TLC despite Jon and Kate Gosselin’s divorce but was canceled last year.
