Obama says Romney’s only argument is ‘It’s Obama’s fault’
BALTIMORE — President Obama swiped Mitt Romney on Tuesday saying his opponent doesn’t have much of an argument for why he should be president going into the November election except, “It’s Obama’s fault.”
And the tweeter-in-chief used the social network to make his point.
“The challenge is because folks are still hurting right now, the other side feels that its enough for them to just sit back and say, ‘Things aren’t as good as they should be and it’s Obama’s fault,’” the president said at a fundraiser in Maryland. “And, you can pretty much put their campaign on, on a tweet and have some characters to spare.”
Speaking before a small crowd of supporters at a private residence, Obama said the American people “generally agree” with his vision for the future of the country.
“If you just put in front of them, issue after issue and you present the Democratic approach and the Republican approach, we win,” he said.
The president has used a version of the line in recent days, saying “It’s Obama’s fault” could be Romney’s new campaign bumper sticker.
But he switched up the line on Tuesday during a fundraiser at the home of Josh and Genine Fidler, an Obama bundler.
Obama, who is participating in six fundraisers in Maryland and Pennsylvania on Tuesday, is expected to bring in more than $3.6 million for his reelection campaign.
Two of the “campaign roundtables” on Tuesday cost $40,000 a person.
