Matt Damon, Ben Affleck to host fundraiser for Elizabeth Warren
A trio of Hollywood stars will host a fundraiser for Elizabeth Warren’s (D) Senate campaign against Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.).
Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and John Krasinksi — best known for his role as Jim on NBC’s “The Office” — will join Warren on May 21 for an event in Santa Monica, Calif. All three actors grew up in Massachusetts.
The fundraiser will take place at the production company owned by film producer J.J. Abrams.
{mosads}Two tickets to the event are being reserved for grassroots supporters, according to a fundraising pitch Warren’s campaign sent to supporters on Friday. Those who donate $5 or more will have a chance at the tickets.
“Our campaign will handle any air transportation and accommodations — you just need to pick who you’re going to bring with you,” wrote Michael Pratt, Warren’s finance director.
Warren has been the standout fundraising juggernaut of the 2012 cycle, surpassing what any other candidates have raised since she entered the race. Warren raised almost $7 million in the first three months of 2012.
