Conservative Michelle Malkin endorses Santorum

{mosads}She cites his positions opposing the TARP bailout, the cap-and-trade bill and individual healthcare mandates, as well as his advocacy of strong border security and “the culture of life.”

Malkin couched her endorsement in qualifications. She wrote: “And at this point in the game, Rick Santorum represents the most conservative candidate still standing who can articulate both fiscal and social conservative values — and live them.”

Santorum is trailing in the polls and has failed to regain momentum since his surprise surge to win the Iowa caucuses at the beginning of the month. He has won the endorsement of several high-profile social conservatives including Focus on the Family Founder James Dobson, pro-Israel activist Gary Bauer, and Family Research Council President Tony Perkins.

Malkin went on to note that although Romney has “too much ideological baggage” and Ron Paul is a “panderer on foreign policy, defense and national security,” the only candidate she specifically writes against is Newt Gingrich.
