Vivek Ramaswamy

Ramaswamy has been known for offering controversial stances on a range of issues, including climate. He's called "the climate change agenda" a "hoax."

Even prior to his campaign launch, Ramaswamy was a critic of ESG policies, but he's continued to feature his criticism of those policies in some of his remarks, including during an Iowa State Fair appearance in which he argued that "They’re using our money… to implement social and environmental agendas through the backdoor. Through corporate America."

On his campaign website, some of Ramaswamy's platform includes encouraging drilling, fracking and burning coal in addition to promoting nuclear energy. It also calls to "abandon the climate cult."

Ramaswamy, like other 2024 GOP candidates, has criticized former White House chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci. The biotech entrepreneur said the former White House official should have been fired and has argued that he "seized authority that no statute or the constitution gave him."

Though the biotech entrepreneur has suggested it's not a part of his campaign platform, Ramaswamy has offered the idea of including a physical fitness section to the SAT in light of the Supreme Court's decision largely eliminating college affirmative action policies.

Ramaswamy founded biotech company Roivant Sciences in 2014 and more recently served as the chairman until February 2023. The company's website notes that subsidiaries of Roivant have secured six Food and Drug Administration drug approvals. One of the biotech company's subsidiaries, Axovant, worked on a drug for Alzheimer's that ultimately struggled to pass a clinical trial.

The biotech entrepreneur has an aim of more than 5 percent gross domestic product growth if elected, according to his campaign platform.

Ramaswamy has suggested the U.S. would defend Taiwan under a Ramaswamy administration until the country is no longer dependent on Taiwan's semiconductor industry.

The biotech entrepreneur has said that he would drastically cut the workforce of the Federal Reserve by 90 percent and "limit its scope to doing exactly *one* thing: stabilize the dollar as a stable unit of measurement."

Ramaswamy has opposed offering more aid to Ukraine amid an ongoing war between the former Soviet Union nation and Russia — an issue that has sparked criticism among other 2024 contenders.

Ramaswamy has been supportive of the idea of allowing Ukrainian territory to be ceded to Russia on the condition that a military alliance with China is also ended by Russia.

The biotech entrepreneur suggested he would negotiate an "Abraham Accords 2.0" that would help incorporate Israel within the rest of the Middle East, with the aim that additional aid to Israel would not be necessary after 2028.
