Hutchinson has previously called for a “market-driven” response to climate change.

He said the country should have “environmentally friendly means of production” for energy.

Hutchinson also expressed concern about “too severe” timelines for climate goals harming quality of life and U.S. competitiveness.

Hutchinson vetoed an Arkansas bill that banned gender-affirming care for transgender youth for being “too extreme.”

He also signed a near-total abortion ban into law, but he believes abortion policy should be a state issue.

He has also emphasized consumer choice in health care coverage over a role of federal government.

Hutchinson said he opposes raising the retirement age for programs like Social Security and Medicare.

He said he supports lowering taxes and broad tax reform.

And he said he supports infrastructure development and the expansion of broadband without “out-of-control and unnecessary” spending.

Hutchinson has warned that Ukraine falling to Russia would threaten NATO.

He said he supports maintaining trade relations with China but on improved terms for U.S.

He also has called for a “tough on Russia” approach to oppose Russian President Vladimir Putin.
