FBI agents seized Trump lawyer’s recordings of conversations in raid: report

FBI agents who raided the office, hotel room and home of President Trump’s personal attorney this week seized recordings during the search, ABC News reported Friday.

What’s contained in the recordings is unclear, but Michael Cohen was known to have occasionally taped his conversations with others and would play them back for colleagues.

The revelation that the FBI obtained recordings during the raid comes a day after The Washington Post reported that some of Trump’s allies were worried that investigators may have seized recorded conversations between Trump and Cohen.

Agents conducting the Monday morning raid on Cohen’s hotel room, home and office were reportedly seeking documents related to payments made to two women — adult-film actress Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal — who have said they had affairs with Trump more than a decade ago.

Investigators were also reportedly seeking records of discussions about the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape released during the 2016 presidential campaign. In that recording, Trump can be heard boasting about kissing and groping women without their permission.

The raid came after federal prosecutors in Manhattan obtained a warrant based, in part, on a referral from special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Trump has bristled at the news of the raid, calling it a “disgrace” and an “attack on our country.”
