Russian foreign minister: Putin is also good at making deals
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday said Moscow will not be walking in blindly to a new era of Russo-American relations, warning that President Trump isn’t the only one known as a tough dealmaker.
“We do not have any naive expectations,” Lavrov said while addressing the Russian parliament, as reported by the local press.
“We know that Trump is considered to be a master at making deals, but Vladimir Putin also knows how to make deals — and always in favor of Russian interests,” the official added.

“Dialogue with U.S. and the European Union can only be built on principles of equality and mutual respect of each other’s interest,” Lavrov said.
The Russian foreign minister also noted that Russia has been striving to strengthen its relations with multiple countries in Africa and Latin America including Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Argentina, Brazil and others.
