Merkel shares photo of her with Trump on sidelines of G-7
German Chancellor Angela Merkel shared a photo prominently featuring her and President Trump at a meeting at the Group of Seven (G-7) summit.
The photo was posted to Merkel’s official Instagram account, with a caption describing it as a “spontaneous meeting between two working sessions.”
The photo comes amid growing tensions between Trump, Merkel and other G-7 leaders over trade disputes. While speaking Saturday at the summit, Trump threatened other leaders that if they do not reduce trade barriers, the U.S. is “not going to deal” with them.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is also standing with his arms crossed, and Trump’s national security adviser John Bolton can be seen in the photo.
