Kim Jong Un visits China: report
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made an unannounced visit to China on Monday, sources told Bloomberg.
The news outlet reported that Nippon TV aired video showing a train arriving in Beijing that resembled the one taken by Kim’s father, Kim Jong Il, during his last visit to China in 2011.
{mosads}The reported visit comes ahead of planned talks between North Korea and South Korea next month.
President Trump earlier this month agreed to meet with Kim in the hope Pyongyang will abandon its nuclear ambitions.
North Korea has been the target of a series of sanctions from the international community due to its repeated intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launches.
While China aligned itself with North Korea in the past, relations between the two countries have soured since Beijing took part in the United Nations sanctions on Pyongyang, Bloomberg noted.
