Gillibrand is the latest high-profile Democrat, and possible 2020 presidential contender, to support Sanders’s bill, which is gaining steam among Democrats.
{mosads}Democratic Sens. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), Kamala Harris (Calif.) and Cory Booker (N.J.), also possible presidential candidates, recently announced their support for the bill as well.
Sanders plans to introduce the measure with an announcement on Wednesday.
Gillibrand expressed some support for single-payer health care in June as well.
“Health care should be a right, it should never be a privilege. We should have Medicare for all in this country,” she said, according to CNN.
