Colorado rep’s departure agitates constituents at ObamaCare meeting: reports

Rep. Mike Coffman (R-Colo.) agitated constituents after leaving a meeting to discuss the repeal of ObamaCare without talking to the entire crowd, The Denver Post reported.

Saturday’s conversation in a Denver suburb about the Affordable Care Act (ACA) reportedly attracted so many people that the congressman met with four people at a time.

The congressman’s chief of staff issued a statement to 9News, blaming the arrangement on the “volume of people.”

{mosads}”Rep. Mike Coffman routinely hosts constituent one on one meetings across the district. Constituents are invited to meet individually with the congressman to express their opinions, seek help with a range of issues, and discuss legislation. Given the volume of people who came, the Congressman met with four people at a time for five minutes each for a total of more than 70 constituents,” said the statement.

Coffman, a top target of Democrats during the 2016 election, penned an op-ed last week with three GOP lawmakers from the Centennial State that called for “a reality check” on ObamaCare.

“This law has failed Coloradans — it hasn’t made health care affordable or accessible,” the congressmen wrote.
