The American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE) launched a get-out-the-vote campaign on Tuesday with NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.

The campaign urges voters to support candidates who back coal and are willing to fight the administration’s carbon pollution rules on power plants.

{mosads}”Americans face an important decision this November. With electricity costs on the rise and threats to our energy supply on the horizon, it’s critical that voters understand the importance of electing strong advocates for affordable, reliable power from coal,” said Laura Sheehan, senior vice president of communications for ACCCE.

“We’re proud to join forces with our longtime partner Dale Jr. in reminding voters to say yes to coal power on Election Day,” she said.

The group released a video that features Earnhardt arguing that “everyone stands to lose if regulations are imposed that increase energy costs for families and businesses.”

ACCCE said it will use Twitter and Facebook to target voters in the states that will determine control of the Senate.

In tight races in states such as Kentucky, North Carolina and Iowa, the administration’s climate agenda has been a rallying point for Republicans, who argue the rules will kill jobs.
