Abbott: ‘We are getting absolutely everything we need’ from White House

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Sunday said the White House has been “very responsive” in helping his state handle Tropical Storm Harvey, which made landfall on Friday as a Category 4 hurricane.

“We are getting absolutely everything we need,” Abbott told CNN’s “State of the Union.”

The governor said he has spoken to President Trump and other Cabinet members and that Harris County, which includes the city of Houston, will be added to the disaster declaration.

During another Sunday show interview, the governor said he gives the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) an “A plus” grade.

“I give FEMA a grade of A plus, all the way to the president….all across the board, from the White House, to the federal administration to FEMA,” he told “Fox News Sunday.”

The storm is blamed for at least five deaths, and severe flooding is reported in Houston and other towns in southeastern Texas.
