Kasich: You can’t leave people without an ObamaCare replacement

Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) in an interview broadcast Sunday spoke out against repealing ObamaCare without having a replacement plan in place.

“I don’t know what that means,” Kasich, who has been a vocal critic of the GOP healthcare repeal plan, told ABC’s Martha Raddatz on “This Week.”

“You can’t get rid of this, you can’t leave people without what they need,” the governor continued.

{mosads}President Trump said last week that if the current Senate GOP healthcare negotiations stall, Republicans should focus on repealing ObamaCare now and replacing it later.

However, Kasich told ABC he believes the president is capable with sitting down with Democrats and Republicans to negotiate healthcare.

“If somebody were to go to him and say we can sit down with the Democrats, and we can come up with a deal that would improve the system. You call it one thing, they call it another thing, I think he’d be fine with it,” he said.

“He’s a negotiator. He’s a real estate guy. Negotiation is apart of their DNA,” Kasich, who ran unsuccessfully for the GOP presidential nomination last year, continued.
