Rand Paul tweets reports questioning ‘landscaping dispute’ theory

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Wednesday tweeted two reports questioning suggestions that the alleged attack against him was sparked by a landscaping dispute.

Paul tweeted a report from the Washington Examiner that claims the neighbor accused of attacking the senator “was aggressively anti-Trump and anti-GOP.” The report also quotes two of Paul’s neighbors who question the notion that the attack was centered on landscaping.

Paul also tweeted a post from Breitbart News that quotes several of the same neighbors featured in the Examiner’s report.

Neither of the tweets included commentary from the senator.

Paul on Wednesday released an update on his medical condition after the altercation at his home in Kentucky over the weekend.

“I appreciate all of the support from everyone. A medical update: final report indicates six broken ribs & new X-ray shows a pleural effusion,” Paul wrote on Twitter, referring to a fluid buildup around the lungs.

The New York Times reported earlier this week that the argument leading to the alleged assault began over landscaping.

A lawyer for Rene Boucher, who was charged in the incident, said Monday that the feud was not related to politics.
