Hannity: Shep Smith ‘clueless’ about Fox News opinion shows
Fox News host Sean Hannity slammed Fox News anchor Shepard Smith on Twitter Friday, saying Smith is “clueless” about the network’s opinion shows. The feud between Fox hosts continued to develop on Friday, as opinion host Laura Ingraham also weighed in.
Hannity’s tweet comes a day after Smith said in an interview that the prime-time opinion shows like Hannity’s are meant “strictly to be entertaining” and that the hosts “don’t really have rules.”
“While Shep is a friend with political views I do not share, and great at breaking news, he is clueless about what we do every day,” Hannity responded Friday, defending his show as one that “breaks news daily.”
While Shep is a friend with political views I do not share, and great at breaking news, he is clueless about what we do every day. Ingraham, who hosts the channel’s “The Laura Ingraham Show,” also criticized Smith for his comments, calling them “inconsiderate & inaccurate.”
Always liked Shep, but his comments were inconsiderate & inaccurate. The hard working team at the Ingraham Angle does real reporting, develops impt sources and scores big interviews. Very proud of them. https://t.co/3aR1EHAK3Z

{mosads}Smith has stood out at the network as an occasional critic of stories promoted by Fox’s opinion personalities. In November, for example, he criticized the reporting around the sale of mining company Uranium One to a Russian state-owned entity, which was frequently promoted by Hannity. Smith signed a years-long contract extension at the network on Thursday.
Hannity has hit the Fox News chief anchor and managing editor before. In July 2017, he called Smith “so anti-Trump.”
“Shep is a friend, I like him, but he’s so anti-Trump,” said Hannity, a staunch supporter of the president. “He went off on a rant last week. That’s fine, but [the opinion is] different.”
Smith and Hannity have both been with Fox News since its inception in 1996. Fox News launched Ingraham’s show in 2017.
