GOP rep challenges fellow Republican’s ‘somebody else’s baby’ tweet
Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-Fla.) — who is the son of Cuban immigrants — sent a tweet to his fellow Republican congressman, Rep. Steve King of Iowa, on Sunday evening.
{mosads}King, a conservative known for making inflammatory statements, came under fire earlier in the day for the commentary he attached to a tweet about far-right Dutch politician Geert Wilders.
“Wilders understands that culture and demographics are our destiny. We can’t restore our civilization with somebody else’s babies,” King tweeted.
Curbelo responded a few hours later, asking, “What exactly do you mean? Do I qualify as ‘somebody else’s baby?’ #concernedGOPcolleague.”
