White House defends Trump ‘Pocahontas’ jab at Navajo event
President Trump’s top spokeswoman on Monday defended his decision to call Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) “Pocahontas” during an event honoring Native American veterans.
“I think what most people find offensive is Sen. Warren lying about her heritage to advance her career,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters.
Sanders claimed the term “Pocahontas” is not a racial slur.
