Trump again claims US is ‘highest taxed nation in the world’

President Trump in a Wednesday tweet previewing his upcoming trip to North Dakota to discuss taxes again claimed that the U.S. is the highest-taxed nation in the world despite data to the contrary.

{mosads}Data compiled in 2015 by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, however, shows the U.S. behind countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany and France in terms of taxes.

The president’s tweet comes as he prepares to give a speech on tax reform in North Dakota on Wednesday.

His administration will attempt to work with Congress in the coming months to reform the U.S. tax code.

After nine months in office, Trump is in need of a legislative victory.

Senate Republicans failed to achieve their seven-year promise to repeal and replace ObamaCare in July.
