Trump unhappy with Priebus for not ‘returning fire’ at Scaramucci: report

President Trump was reportedly unhappy with former chief of staff Reince Priebus for not “returning fire” at White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci following an explosive interview with the New Yorker this week.

An adviser to Trump told The Wall Street Journal that was Trump “dismissive” of Priebus for not firing back at Scaramucci. Scaramucci unloaded on Priebus in the interview with New Yorker writer Ryan Lizza, calling the then-chief of staff a “f——— paranoid schizophrenic” and a “paranoiac.”

{mosads}“They’ll all be fired by me,” he said of the White House communications staff. “I fired one guy the other day. I have three to four people I’ll fire tomorrow. I’ll get to the person who leaked that to you. Reince Priebus — if you want to leak something — he’ll be asked to resign very shortly.”

Earlier on Thursday, Scaramucci insinuated that Priebus was behind the “leak” of his personal financial disclosure forms. A reporter said the forms were publicly available.
Priebus was dismissed from the White House on Friday as Trump announced on Twitter that he had chosen Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly as his new chief of staff.

Speaking to reporters on Friday just after the move was announced, Trump called Priebus a “good man” but called Kelly a “star.”

“John Kelly will do a fantastic job. Gen. Kelly has been a star, done an incredible job thus far, respected by everybody. He’s a great American,” he said.
