A former columnist for Breitbart News is leaving her post at the National Security Council.

Tera Dahl, a former columnist for Breitbart News who served as the NSC’s deputy chief of staff, has been reassigned to a position outside of the White House.

The news was first reported by Buzzfeed.

{mosads}The White House said Dahl’s intent was always to move into a policy role in the White House after doing work on Trump’s transition to the White House.

“Tera Dahl has done exemplary work both on the transition and in the first months of the Trump administration getting the National Security Council staffed up and running from the chief of staff’s office,” White House spokesperson Michael Anton said to Buzzfeed. “It was always her intent to move into a policy role once this task was completed.”

It’s not clear what Dahl’s next role will be.

Because of Dahl’s connection to Breitbart, however, the departure is likely to be seen by many as part of a battle within the White House between rival factions led by Trump senior strategist Stephen Bannon, who left his position as a top Breitbart executive to join President Trump’s campaign, and national security adviser H.R. McMaster.

Bannon was initially a member of the NSC staff, but was removed in April from the post in a decision approved by McMaster and Trump.
