Trump to speak at CPAC

President Trump is set to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday.

At the conference, Trump will join an already-full list of White House officials, including Vice President Mike Pence, as well as Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, who will take the stage together on Thursday.

Trump has become a regular attendee of the high-profile conference in recent years.

The event is also set to feature a number of prominent Republicans, including Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), one-time presidential candidate Carly Fiorina and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.

The organizers of the annual meeting made the announcement on Facebook Monday morning, amid controversy stemming from a video of Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos, who is scheduled to speak at CPAC, appearing to defend pedofilia.

A chorus of prominent conservatives are calling for the American Conservative Union, the group that organizes CPAC, to remove Yiannopoulos from its list of speakers.

ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp told the Hollywood Reporter on Saturday that the group invited Yiannopoulos to speak because of protesters’ efforts to shut down his speaking events at colleges. But other ACU board members have publicly denounced Yiannopoulos and revealed that they were not consulted on his invitation.
