Rosie O’Donnell to lead Broadway stars in protest outside White House

Rosie O’Donnell is leading Broadway stars for a protest outside the White House that will have them belting out songs from “Les Miserables” and other musicals.

The former “The View” co-host and Broadway performer will lead fellow entertainers from various Broadway shows at Monday’s protest, O’Donnell’s spokeswoman confirmed to ITK.

{mosads}The group will perform songs such as “A Brand New Day” from “The Wiz” and “The Sound of Music” tune “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” according to The Associated Press.

The protest is reportedly being organized by Broadway veteran and SiriusXM host Seth Rudetsky and husband James Wesley.

Rudetsky encouraged supporters to bring the lyrics to a classic “Les Mis” song in a Friday tweet:

Among performers will be current and former cast members of Broadway shows like “Wicked,” ″Hamilton,” ″Phantom of the Opera,” ″The King and I” and ″Les Miserables,” among others, The Associated Press reported.

O’Donnell, 56, is one of President Trump’s most vocal entertainment industry critics, and has been in a long-running feud with the former real estate mogul.

The war of words is believed to have stemmed from comments O’Donnell made in 2006 on “The View” criticizing Trump’s remarks about a contestant in his Miss USA pageant. He’s dubbed her a “pig” and a “loser,” while O’Donnell has called Trump “mentally unstable” and has accused him of “treason.”

She tweeted to her more than a million followers this week about the protest:

It’s not the first time O’Donnell has taken her political activism to the steps of the White House. The comedian led a protest outside 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in February 2017, hours before Trump delivered his first address to Congress.

Monday’s protest will be livestreamed on the progressive group MoveOn’s Facebook page.
