Bernie Sanders gets personal on ‘Ellen’

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), known for keeping personal details about himself private, opened up in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that aired Thursday. 

{mosads}The Democratic presidential candidate shared whether he wears boxers or briefs, which GOP candidate he would prefer to be deserted on an island with, and whether he’s ever been in handcuffs. 

“I don’t exactly what you mean by that,” Sanders responded to the latter question. “I take it to mean, was I ever arrested by the police?” 

“Well, no, not necessarily,” DeGeneres quipped. 

DeGeneres also asked who has better hair between Sanders and Donald Trump, his favorite One Direction member, and what karaoke song he would sing. 

For every question Sanders answered honestly, the talk show host said, $1,000 would be donated to breast cancer research.
